Boy Scout Troop 976

Troop 976 is chartered by First Presbyterian Church, Bryan. The Troop has 21 boys ranging in age from 11 to 17 who have achieved ranks from Scout to Eagle. The Scoutmaster is Ben Fortner with four (4) Assistant Scoutmasters. FPC Member Kathy Burdett is our Charter Organization Representative and the church’s representative to the Troop.

We meet on Monday evenings from 7:00pm – 8:30pm in Fellowship Hall.
 
In Summer 2019:

• 18 Scouts and 9 adults attended summer camp at Camp Alexander in Lake George, Colorado, and while there earned a total of 74 merit badges and 5 Scouts completed a rank advancement.
• A group of 4 Scouts and 3 adults completed a high adventure trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. This group hiked approx. 80 miles in the mountains of New Mexico and the Scouts earned 4 merit badges.

In Summer 2020, a small group will be traveling to Sea Base St Croix and to summer camp at a location to be determined at our annual planning meeting in August 2019. The planning meeting will also determine dates for our monthly camping trips.
