Sunday Morning Church School - 9:30 A.M.
Sunday morning worship services begin at 10:45 a.m.
We offer two different types of worship as described below.
In the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, a reverent and joyful service combines of Scripture, music (including our thirty-four rank pipe organ and grand piano), song, prayer, dedication of our gifts, time with young disciples, proclamation, affirmation of faith, and monthly celebration of the Lord's Supper. Our hymns and anthems are "traditional" and classical, enhanced occasionally by arrangements of African-American spirituals, "revival-type" Gospel songs, psalms set to music, and recently written spiritual songs. These elements of worship serve a dual purpose: (1) to glorify God; and, (2) by God's grace, to assist our growth in faith for serving as disciples of Jesus Christ in today's world.
In relaxed setting of our Fellowship Hall, the Open Door provides an uplifting experience of contemporary Christian music in a casual and welcoming atmosphere in which the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed and shared. In worship, we express our hearts to the God who loves us. We awaken to God's presence. Together in worship, we give thanks to God, grow in our understanding of faith, and leave with a joyful spirit to serve as disciples of Jesus Christ. Our music is lively, up-beat, and more contemporary than it is classical; but don't be surprised to hear a traditional hymn sung with a 21st century beat. We provide a worship experience featuring the life-changing power of the Gospel with a contemporary feel - a comfortable place for worshipers of all ages!
You will be welcomed at either worship opportunity.
